Soniya Jandwani Baveja is the founder of Design Xplore. She brings more than 30-years of experience, in the design industry which reverberates clearly in her work. It is supported by Soniya’s professional training in interior design, which started in the year 1991, with a 3-year course in Interior Design and Decoration followed by various courses in furniture, furnishing and wood treatments from some prestigious institutes, over the years. Though the courses taught her about the underlying principles, the aesthetics that are reflected in her work are the result of the initial exposure and the tutelage of some of the exceptionally brilliant interior designers for almost 11 years. In 2005, she had her last corporate stint as a commercial space designer, and that was the year when the transition happened for her to be an independent interior designer.
Soniyaa's passion for trekking the Greater Himalayas mirrors her design journey. Both involve navigating challenging terrains, discovering hidden gems, and appreciating natural beauty. The rugged landscapes inspire her creativity, blending nature's raw elegance with artistic vision to craft spaces that reflect the mountains' serenity and grandeur.
A business development expert with over 25 years of experience in the service industry, Sharad identified the vast scope and impact of design on productivity and corporate image. Over these years, he has developed a deeper understanding of the emerging emphasis on ergonomics, green energy and sustainable development in the new age corporate world. Sharad on discovering his interest for interiors and his desire to 'make a difference' led to his transition from a successful career in aviation industry to interior design and construction arena. Sharad joined his wife, Soniyaa, in the year 2013. His strategic and persistent approach to understanding the requirements is what clients really like about him. He is an effective communicator with out-of-the-box analytical thinking, which enables him to provide unique, aesthetic yet functional design solutions to his clients.
Col Ashwin Dev, an Ex-Army officer, is our new Business Development Officer. With a distinguished military background, Ashwin brings unparalleled leadership, a keen eye for detail, and strategic expertise to our team. He focuses on expanding our business in the picturesque mountains and valleys of Dehradun. His dedication and disciplined approach drive our growth and enhance our presence in this beautiful region. Col Dev's innovative strategies are a tremendous asset to Design Xplore. In addition to his professional achievements, Ashwin is an avid birder and photographer, and has a passion for interior design, making him a perfect fit for our creative and nature-inspired projects. Being a photographer and a nature lover, he has a critical and observant eye which can blend nature with interiors. Having served a lifetime in the Armed Forces makes him a perfect person for timely project implementation.

Diplo, a dark brown Cocker Spaniel, has been the beloved stress buster in our office. Over the years, his playful presence and gentle nature have brought joy and relaxation to everyone. Known for his discerning eye, Diplo was the first to greet and "interview" new hires, offering a wag of approval for each appointment. Now enjoying a well-deserved semi-retirement, Diplo works from home but remains available on request. His legacy of warmth and welcome continues to be cherished by all who had the pleasure of meeting him.
